About Us
Scarborough Marine Group has serviced customers along the Jersey Shore since 2016. Separating us from other mechanical dredging companies is our ability to provide customers with pre dredge services related to permitting and financing. We are 100% scalable; from one residential slip to a 500 slip marina, our crew will get the job done. We treat every job as if it is our own and we provide exceptional service from start to finish.
Who We Service
PRIVATE & ASSOCIATIONS
Scarborough Marine Group is capable of handling small private projects and organizing, when necessary, multiple private adjacent owners into associations. The association on behalf of multiple owners then becomes the permit applicant. In order to be economically and logistically viable, it is often necessary to “bundle” private owners together into an association to make the project work. Scarborough Marine Group welcomes the opportunity to add value by managing this process and considers it part of the overall solution to address the customer’s dredging needs.
Ocean City, NJ Dredging
With our homeport in Somers Point, New Jersey, we spend a significant amount of time servicing Ocean City residents. The City of Ocean City has a unique city-wide permit that allows its residents to dredge their private boat slips at a much lower cost. All permitting for Ocean City can be submitted from our office to the city. The city charges residents a fee of $200 to apply to use the permit. If the application is approved, they will charge an inspection fee at the following rates:
1-50 cubic yards: $5/yard
51-500 cubic yards: $4/yard
501+ cubic yards: $3/yard
COMMERCIAL
Scarborough Marine Group was initially formed to dredge large commercial recreational marinas. Our most recent marina projects included 250 slips at Cape May Marina, more than 400 slips at Harbour Cove Marina and 80 slips at Brigantine Marina & Paddle Club. All three properties are owned and operated by Scarborough Marine Group. The push boats, hopper barges, rig barges and dewatering process was developed specifically to service the marina owner. The push boats and hoppers are designed, and custom built to work around existing docks and pilings eliminating the financial waste incurred when removing floating dock systems for dredging.
MUNICIPAL
Scarborough Marine Group actively seeks bid opportunities with municipalities for dredge and push boat / barge rental services. With bonding capacity in excess of twenty million dollars, Scarborough Marine Group is capable of completing most mechanical dredging projects located between The Mullica River and Cape May, New Jersey.
